The Bucks
_Gator is our little stud-muffin - he just knows he was born to be a ladies man! Gator is turning out to be a strong, correct, and very dairy fellow. His sire, Sugar Creek MT Tell Me More, sired some really stunning animals, with several showring winners for Woodbridge Farm and one finished champion doe to date. His dam is a producing doe for Quail Run Hollow, a grade A creamery, has earned her milking star and has high linear appraisal scores, including an "Excellent" on her udder. His maternal grand-dam, Esperanza ZZ Charity, is dam to CH Poppy Patch RC Poppyseed and littermate to CH Esperanza ZZ Felicity.
Gator is curious and sweet-tempered, but pretty skittish with people, as he was not handled much as a kid. He's very level on the move with correct gait, and just has really nice overall conformation, plus great feet. He has a wonderfully wide, level rump. He has excellent general appearance, depth of body, and a fantastic front end assembly. I love his escutcheon - lots of height. He consistently improves rumps, improving length, width and thurl height, throws straight feet and legs, and a beautiful escutcheon. Improved general appearance with longer, more refined bone patter, larger teat size, deliciously soft udder texture, and lovely heads are his trademark stamps.

_I saw K's dam, CH Honey
Goat Domingo, at a show, and I thought she was one of the prettiest
goats I'd ever seen. And not only is she pretty, she is a
persistent milker who produced nearly 3 quarts a day at her peak. Wow!
Domingo's sire and dam represent some of the best foundation Nigerian
breeding, as well. When I discovered she was being bred to Algedi Farm
MB Honeymoon Bay, I knew I'd found my next buck. As can be seen by their
milk and show awards and appraisal scores, both paternal grandsire and
granddam are exceptional animals, and have produced a number of
outstanding offspring.
I strive for a balance between power and refinement in correct conformation, and K has that. He is very long bodied, good width with nice front end and excellent escutcheon and width between the hocks. He carries a long line of outstanding, productive udders on both sides of his pedigree and he is keeping up the family tradition of passing on those traits. To top it off, he is a sweet little guy and as pleasant to be around as a buck can be. I was quite pleased with the dairyness, length of body, and improvement in topline, escutcheon, and spring of rib on his daughters. He likes to improve udder attachments, production, and will to milk, too.
K's daughters are proving what they can do: In 2014, Sans Gene K Sweet Polly won Junior Champion as a 4 month old doeling; Sans Gene K Cookies and Cream won RCH and Best Udder in Breed as just a first freshener; Sans Gene K Zydeco earned a RCH win this year at a big show (behind the doe that won Best Udder in Show!). Sans Gene K Firefly also had a RCH Jr win last year.

Sans Gene K Voyager:
DOB 4/12/2013 2014 LA: VVV 86 Sire: Poppy Patch HB Evel Kneivel VEE 90 Algedi Farm MB Honeymoon Bay CH Honey Goat Domingo Dam: Caprinos RI Night Jasmine 1*M EEEE 91 Pholia Farm KM Riot +*B V+E 87 Goodnight Tahoma Violet +VE+ 84 I originally planned to sell Viggo, but as I watched him grow, I realized this very correct young buckling had all the traits I was looking to combine in my herd. He's dairy. He has great conformation (which will lead to great general appearance when he *someday soon we hope* grows out of dorky adolescent stage!). He has a wide rump and nice thurls, and his escutcheon reminds me of a train tunnel it is so high and open. Love the ribbing and bone on this kid. The quality of udders and milk production genetics from both sire and dam sides are excellent. So with all of that, it wasn't hard at all to add a little space to the buck pen for this handsome young man. |

Sans Gene GT Storm Watch (aka Stormy)
DOB 3/23/15 Dark gold and white pinto Sire: Sans Gene GT Doppler Effect VEE 88 (Caprinos TMM Renegade LA 89 X GCH Caprinos RI Night Jasmine 1*M EEEE 91) Dam: Sans Gene K Firefly ++V+ 84 (LA as 1st freshener) (Poppy Patch HB Evel Knievel LA 90 x GCH Pholia Farm HB Flicker 3*M VEVE 90) Firefly is looking wonderful this year. Great production and will to milk, and though one of the smallest does in my herd, she is among the milkiest. Fly produced at 3 - 4lbs on twice daily milking on her 2nd freshening, peaking at 4.6 - over half a gallon. Stormy's sire, Doppler Effect, is throwing really nice mammaries and conformation, improving rumps, teat length, and general appearance while maintaining dairy strength. Stormy looks a lot like his dad, with just a touch more refinement, and a sweet, gentle temperament. Pictures soon! |
